Vegas Seperation Anxiety

It's my birthday is January and I believe that it's a perfectly great excuse to go off to Vegas. Vegas is hurting during this tough economic situation which means wonderful deals or should I say steals? I would love to celebrate for New Years there as well. Although there are steep hotel prices and long lines for nightclubs. The new hotel, Vdara, in the City Center opened today. I can't wait to see it since I've been watching it being built since three years ago. Construction always made the traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard awful. By the way the picture is of me on my last trip in July at the Rat Pack show in Downtown Las Vegas. It was very cheesy especially when the Frank Sinatra impersonator asked my sister and I to go out with him afterwards in front of my grandparents. The guy couldn't tell the show was over because he kept on with his sleezy New York accent and said that he hangs out at the Blue Martini. Oh please!

Brian Wilson at Walt Disney Concert Hall

Sunday December 6, 2009, Brian Wilson will be performing an acoustic set at the Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Also Dave Alvin and the Indie Sisters will be joining him. Brian Wilson is my favorite musicians because of his unbelievable way to create harmonies in his head. I love the interview he did with Zooey Deschanel. Please watch.

My love for Bon Iver

Bon Iver is one of those musicians who create a new look on life for the listener and make them want to explore the world and all it's wonders. I started this blog when I first heard "For Emma" on Current TV's Embeded. They walk through the rainy streets of Paris with only a guitar and three voices. Justin Vernon of Bon Iver went up to his father's cabin in the woods of Wisconsin and used old recording equipment to record the album, "For Emma, Forever Ago." He used isolation and clear minded focus to develop some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Enjoy.
